HOUSEKEEPING CHECKLIST

*Thank you for choosing to thoroughly clean the cottage yourselves before you leave. We respectfully ask that you PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! leave the cottage SPARKLING CLEAN before you depart! You must count on it taking 3 to 4 hours to do a good job.

You may use whatever cleaning products you prefer. I use:

Comet or beach for inside the toilet bowl,

Windex for glass surfaces and front & back door windows,

Clorox Clean-up Spray or Wipes for kitchen counters & all bathroom surfaces,

Pine Sol, Ocean Breeze for mopping floors,

Tilex Mold & Mildew Remover for shower & tub, and

frangrance-free detergent like Purex or All for the sheets and towels.

DURING THE SUMMER, LEAVE THE THERMOSTAT ON! (76-78') THANK YOU!

___WASH, DRY, FOLD & PUT AWAY (CORRECTLY) ALL SHEETS & TOWELS

___strip beds and remake or lay out extra set

___wash/dry/fold/put away sheets you used

___wash/dry/fold/put away all kitchen, beach & bath towels

___wash rugs (if needed) and hang out to dry on fence or inside line in laundry room,

TIP: launder as many towels as you can the night before you leave to save on drying time.

___VACUUM ALL FLOORS (underneath all furniture, please) & FAMILY ROOM FURNITURE

TIP: check to see if vacuum cleaner bag is half full. If so, replace it with new one stored on laundry room shelf.

___MOP ALL FLOORS, UNDER FURNITURE

TIP: rinse mop thoroughly & frequently with clean water, ring out, then dip in cleaning solution. I use the kitchen sink, one side for Pine Sol & hot water, the other side for rinsing.

___CLEAN MASTER BATHROOM

___Scrub toilet bowl with cleaner, then wipe entire exterior surface with cleaner

___Clean lavatory with cleaner

___Spray & wipe out shower

___Clean both mirrors with glass cleaner

___Remove trash & line wastebasket with plastic grocery bag

___CLEAN 2ND BATHROOM

___Scrub toilet bowl with cleaner, then wipe entire exterior surface with cleaner

___Clean lavatory with cleaner

___Spray & wipe out tub

___Clean mirror with glass cleaner

___Remove trash & line wastebasket with plastic grocery bag

___CLEAN KITCHEN

___Make sure dishes are clean & put away

___Make sure coffee maker & toaster are UNPLUGGED

___Clean out coffee maker, refrigerator

___Wipe counters & SINK

___Take out all garbage

___DUST EVERY SURFACE IN EVERY ROOM WITH WINDEX

*Don't miss window sills, shelves, television & cabinet, tables

___SWEEP OUTSIDE FRONT & BACK DOORS

___Clean front & back doors with Windex

___Look around yard & pick up litter

___Put away all beach items that belong in Garden Shed

***If you brought a dog, please don't forget to poopy scoop!
